About Karen Datangel

Karen Datangel is a communications specialist, writer, connector, sports enthusiast (Go SF Giants, 49ers, and Warriors), and philanthropy-minded extroverted introvert. Born, bred, and based in the Bay Area, Karen graduated with a degree in Journalism from San Francisco State University. Her writing/media resume includes contributions to and internships with Hollywood Life, CAAMFest (Formerly the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival), Audrey Magazine (Now part of Character Media), Bustle, Fandom, SheKnows, and POPSUGAR. She now focuses mostly on social media and communications in various industries, currently working in public service and having worked previously at the San Francisco Unified School District, Salesforce, and Google. Outside of work, she is an active member of the Spinsters of San Francisco.

I am excited to announce that I have been selected to be a San Francisco Film Festivals Examiner at Examiner.com! As an SF Film Festivals Examiner, I plan to deliver regular updates on what festivals are coming up in the City. Of course, as I have done on my blog Karen On, I will also be writing reviews of select films that will be screening. Additionally, I hope to conduct interviews with filmmakers and various celebrity guests that will be appearing at these events. If you have any suggestions for related content you would like to see from me as well send tips for upcoming festivals, please feel free to contact me.
